Is it possible to submit an appeal personally from jail?

My cousin is in Dubai Aveer jail. He has been jailed for one year and also has deportation. I want to ask if he can appeal from jail? Also, will he have to pay for his appeal or is it free.

Please be informed that if the judgment is delivered by the Criminal Court of First Instance, there is a 15-day period to file an appeal against the judgment. Your cousin may submit his request to file an appeal by speaking with the jail management since he is in the jail presently. Further, the appeal court fee is generally nominal in criminal matters and will be communicated by the court.
